February Update

It's easy to let my blogger get out of date because there is so much else going on, but here goes for a potential catch up. This "issue" talks about some of my favorite things: presents for me, romance, weddings, and travel!

February 2nd was my birthday, and since Jon has grad school late that evening we ended up going over to my parent's house for dinner. My mom cooked my favorite dish and I opened up presents. Jon got me an exercise ball, a Christian woman's magazine I've been eyeing, and 2 tickets to see Les Miserables together in May. He has never seen it, and since it's my favorite, it should definitely be a fun time. My parents got me 2 gift certificates to Massage Envy (yea!) and a gift certificate to a spa by our house. I pretty much can pick anything I want to do there....wraps, facials, etc. They'll do the works. The hard part...now I just have to pick what I want! Troy and Kelly got me some Christian books, and Ericka and Marie got me some pampering supplies as well. Do I see a theme going on here? Do I seem stressed out to you? :)

Valentine's Day was a few weeks later and Jon also had grad school. I cooked a pot roast dinner and got Jon some of his favorite candies and some chocolate covered strawberries to share. I also prepared a short scavenger hunt for him with some of his favorite items. It was fun spending some uninterrupted time together and "hanging out" on Tuesday night. Let's just say it's fun being married and having Valentine's Day.

We have been busy refinishing the redwood around our outside spa which looks great now that it's finished, but was very hard work. Jon also planted a citrus tree in our backyard last weekend. It's fun making our house our home and adding our touches to it. We often joke that just when we "get it right," we'll be ready to move out though!

This last weekend Ericka and I went looking for bridesmaid dresses and it was way fun trying stuff on and seeing what I liked. It's hard to believe her wedding is only a few months away now. This year is already flying by!

Jon and I are looking into vacation options for fall/winter 06. Since he has free airline miles to practically anywhere in the world, we have been scouting out New Zealand and South Africa. I think Europe would be fun and we could combine it with Hawaii too, but either way it will be an awesome time. We also found out from our honeymoon place they are offering us three nights to make up for the hurricane. However, airfare down there is super expensive, and that might end up restricting us from going. It would be fun to finish off our long lost honeymoon though. It's never too late, right?

Hopefully this fulfills the update that some of you have been asking for!

Hey Korn! Sounds like you had a very nice birthday and Valentine's Day! And, you do tend to be very busy so I can understand people getting you stress-relieving gifts. Plus, how often would you actually get a massage or spa treatment for yourself? Man, enjoy that!
Talk to you soon and thanks for the update!
