Random update

Happy Fall! I know, it doesn't feel like it's fall when the temperature is still hovering in the nineties, but it's nice to know some people are seeing the weather change. I know I have posted in a looonnnngggg time, but life has been busy. School started up again and between that, grad school, and the things that happen just being an adult, the blog has taken a back seat.

One very exciting thing is that Jon and I will be on vacation in three weeks. It's our first week long vacation since our ill-fated honeymoon turned hurricane adventure. We are planning on seeing some fall leaves in upper New York and Massachusetts, visiting Boston and Providence, and ending with four days in the Big Apple. Jon has never been there, and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he is in Times Square for the first time. Keep your fingers crossed for good fall foliage. This Arizona native wants to see some reds and oranges on those trees, but with the cold temperatures in the upper section of the northeastern US, the leaves might peak early.

We are planning on doing the typical tourist stuff while in NY: Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, eating in Little Italy, etc. If anyone knows of good places to check out (read: where the locals go) we are definitely up for trying "real" NY food without paying the heafty price or dealing with the crowds of most tourist joints. We might also try to take in a Broadway show or comedy club, both of which charge about five times what you should pay.

Kelly is due anyday know, so I'll make sure I post pictures of my nephew as soon as it happens. Pray for her health as well as that of Garrison.

Jon has been quite the handy man lately and has needed to fix many an issue in our home. From replacing the spa control valve (very impressive) to fixing a leaky shower spout (not an easy task) he has been invaluable. Yesterday alone he made five trips to Home Depot to get all the parts and information he would need for our little plumbing issue. Being a homeowner is just so much fun!

I hope everyone is doing well!
