It looks like I will have a job with the University of Phoenix facilitating associate students in a critical thinking class online. However, the school districts are not posting their openings yet, and those that have are limiting positions to "internal applicants only" because of the RIFing that has occurred. Between teaching online and taking library courses for certification in WA I'm not sure if I'll have time to do a full time position, but I ideally I think I would like to go to work part time in order to keep my experience up in the schools and meet people in Seattle.
Jon and I both attended separate women/men's Bible studies, and we are hoping that will help us meet people in our new church. My study went very well and we are reading a book and praying for each other after each session. It is small (about 5 women), but I hope that helps to foster more meaningful relationships. We also are looking to attend a young couples small group, so hopefully we can continue to get plugged in.
The weather has been really great here and sunnier than normal June months, and for this I am thankful. It is in the 80s and sunny most days, so I have been walking around our neighborhood for exercise during the day. Bellevue has many parks all over since most people's homes do not have large backyards. We have about 5 different trails within a 10 minute walk of our house, so those are fun to explore. It is amazing how quickly you enter a forest of green with babbling brooks; you feel miles away from civilization.
Troy is planning on visiting after his Beyond Mailbu trip in at the beginning of July, and my parents will be here the end of July. I am looking forward to seeing family, and being apart from them will no doubt make our time together more meaningful and memorable for me.
I hope everyone is having a great June so far! I'll keep you posted as thing develop..or stay the same! :)
