How does he do this?

I got this in an e-mail, but I had never seen it before (like most forwards) so I thought I'd share it. An artist named Julian Beever makes chalk drawings which look like they are 3D from some angles. Check out some of these pictures to get an idea:

Here is the picture from the correct angle:

Doesn't it look like his one foot is "in" the water when it is really on level pavement? Pretty cool, huh? Here are some more to give you a few ideas.

In this picture, people are actually avoiding
walking in the "hole." So neat!
